Winner of the 2002 Haarlem (NL) International Organ Improvisation  
Competition
Organ works by Sweelinck, Scheidemann, Tunder, Buxtehude, Bach, and  
improvisations on submitted melodies

"Sietze de Vries is one of the greatest European masters of organ  
improvisation. He has won fifteen different prizes in various  
international organ competitions, including the first prize at the  
International Improvisation Competition in Haarlem, which is regarded  
as the most prestigious competition in that genre. Sietze de Vries  
has released several CDs with pieces from all style periods and with  
his own improvisations in various styles. Besides playing concerts  
all over Europe and in the United States, he is active as teacher of  
improvisation and as a composer in his home Netherlands. We are  
looking forward to hear him play our new Richards, Fowkes & Co. organ!"
